Chris' World of Classical Music

Welcome to my world of Classical Music! Here is my personal collection of classical music related stuff. It's only for my personal organization and summary.

Year 2006 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), my favorite composer! I'll try to collect some information about celebrations wordlwide... More info

Since I'm not a professional musician, most of the information presented here may be only a personal view or feeling about classical music. I don't know how to play any musical instruments (except Erhu, Chinese violin/fiddle with two strings), nor have I studied any musical history or basic principles. Hence, if I make too many mistakes, please do not hesitate to correct me.

Now, let's enjoy classical music!

I would like to express my special thanks to my brother. He was the first one who introduced me into the world of Classical Music (in the Chinese New Year of 1995). Without him, I would not have known so many beautiful musical pieces of so many marvelous musicians. But it's also he who "helped" me spend so much money buying all these CDs... :<

I would also like to thank Claire, who has been tolerating so much "noise" for so many years when I was listening to various musical works through a poor stereo system and a PC speaker!

Background Music: J. S. Bach: Goldberg Variations
Most of the aforementioned musical pieces can be found on the Classical Music Archives Web Site.
